A Happy Sunday @ TGI Fridays

I needed a good meal after watching Train to Busan (yes, zombie movies/shows make me hungry) and got a craving for TGI Fridays. I have one of those Bistro Group cards so I automatically get 20% + free coffee + P250 off (voucher). Not bad at all.

The branch in Fairview Terraces looks similar to any other branch - slightly dim lights, similar red seats, nice bar, lots of red and white. The staff, as always, is perky. But they did get a dose of my "kasungitan" when they failed to give me my iced tea after several follow ups: "Miss, this is the 4th time that I'm asking for my iced tea. If you don't have iced tea yet, please give me a glass of water kasi uhaw na uhaw na ako!!" And voila, my iced tea arrived in a matter of seconds.

And now, let's go down to business. We ordered the Peppercorn New York Strip (P1625). It's a tender strip steak seasoned with black peppercorn and topped with peppercorn sauce. Can I say peppercorn one more time? I wish I can say it was fabulous, but it was "good enough" at best. I would have thought that all that peppercorn and sauce would make it taste a little yummier, but it fell a little short for me. To clarify, it wasn't "bad" at all. I suppose I just prefer my steaks to be a little tastier.

The Jack Daniel's Sampler (P795), on the other hand, is a personal favorite. It includes Cajun Spiced Shrimps, Sesame Jack Boneless Bites and Beef Brisket Quesadillas. I simply love the Jack Daniel's glaze - and no, it's not because I'm an alcoholic or something.

A great movie, a good meal and a relatively stress free Sunday (and I went to bed early, too!). Happy Sunday indeed!
