Pares ATBP at Everybuddies

Friend 1: Nakakain ka na ba ng Pares?
Friend 2: What's Pares?
And the crowd went wild.

That was the short conversation that led us to leave the comforts of Eastwood Mall and venture into one of my favorite pares places (no, I am NOT friend 2). We simply had to drag Friend 2's rich ass to Manggahan so Friend 2 can experience the simple joys of eating at a pares restaurant. Within a few minutes, we found ourselves on one of the stools of Everybuddies (insert - that Backstreet Boys song).

Pares, for the uninformed, is made of tender beef and a sweet seasoned sauce. It's translated as "pairs" because it is served with garlic fried rice and beef broth soup. For P84 (soup and rice included), it's not a bad deal! Super yummy especially when paired with chili sauce. By far my favorite dish served at this place. Friend 2 didn't like it that much because it was "too sweet."

We also ordered Lechon Kawali (P99). I didn't fancy it that much primarily because of the "high blood factor" that it brings, but this Friend 1's favorite. Ok na rin, pambalanse sa tamis ng Beef Pares. But it made me feel a bit dizzy afterwards.

I must have been extra hungry coz I also ended up ordering Beef Tapa (P61, solo). It actually looked (and tasted) like pares without the sauce so there wasn't anything new there. Also on the sweet side, which is not what I was looking for in tapa.

Finally, there's the Beef Mami (P72). I didn't get to taste this, but it was Friend 2's order. Looks yummy but Friend 2's discriminating taste categorized it as "okay lang." Super hard to please - and they say I'm the picky one haha.

So here's a shot of us post meal. Take a wild guess who Friend 2 is!
