Most of the time we order ala carte and order their yummy dishes. Today, I chanced upon the Cantonese Lunch Buffet. While I wasn't particularly hungry, I just decided to go for the buffet so I could try out how far my P888 will go. And it was a good decision.
Unlike typical buffets, they simply give you a list of things that you can choose from. It's mostly dimsum, but it also includes a nice selection of main dishes and desserts.
Among my favorites are the Sweet and Sour Pork with Sweet Fruits (yeah, it sounds weird but I saw melons and pineapple slices in there) and the Wok Fried Shrimp with Black Bean Sauce. Each serving was good for sharing, but you can order bigger ones if you so desire. I think we ordered a couple of these haha.
And then there was the Steamed Fish Fillet with Garlic Sauce and the Wok Fried Chicken in 3 Cups Sauce - both also really good. The servings came with sauces that you can use to adjust the taste to your liking. I like mine spicy so I really enjoyed the chili sauce.
Did I mention dimsum? We ordered a lot of those, too. The siomai was a bit disappointing but everything else was on point. I especially liked the Steamed Seafood Vermicelli Roll and the Xia Jiao Dumplings. The other ones we tried were yummy too. The dessert was okay, but nothing spectacular. The Leche Flan was plain at best, and the Almond Jelly tasted like every other Almond Jelly dessert I've eaten in the past. We didn't get to order everything on the menu - no more space in our tummies!
There were some interesting items in the menu, too. I was curious about the Steamed Ox Stomach, the Jellyfish and the Duck dishes. We ended up not ordering those because we were not sure we would like them (I'm not a fan of duck, and steamed "tuwalya" sounds gross).
For P888, the meal was a "steal."
